Arnaldo Caprai is the winery that, more than any other, made Sagrantino known worldwide: founded in Montefalco in 1971, under Marco Caprai it turned an almost forgotten Umbrian grape into one of Italy's great reds. Caprai4Love is a special edition of Sagrantino, offered here in a three-bottle gift box.

Sagrantino is perhaps the most tannic grape in Italy: taming it takes long macerations and extended ageing in barriques, followed by some months in bottle, in the house style. The result is a powerful red built to last.

2014 was a cool, rainy vintage across much of Italy, producing wines less concentrated than usual and more focused on freshness. In the glass blackberry, plum, black pepper, cocoa and leather, with firm tannins and a balsamic finish. With game, lamb, braised meats and aged cheeses; a gift idea for collectors.
