Amarone della Valpolicella Stella 2001 – Aneri

Stella is the flagship Amarone of Aneri, the Verona-based house founded by Giancarlo Aneri that has become a fixture at official dinners and in top restaurants. It is made from classic Valpolicella grapes, dried in the traditional way and vinified without technological shortcuts.

After fermentation the wine rests for four years in small and medium oak casks, a long time that builds structure and complexity. This 2001 bottle has since added more than twenty years in the cellar: today it is an evolved, deep Amarone, with spirit-soaked fruit, dried plum, cocoa, oriental spice and balsamic notes.

A wine for meditation and for important occasions: with game, braised meats, very aged cheeses, or on its own after dinner. Amarone of this age is hard to find.
