Capogatto 2013 Alta Valle della Greve IGT - Podere Poggio Scalette
Capogatto 2013 Alta Valle della Greve IGT from Podere Poggio Scalette is a signature Super Tuscan, elegant and profound, born from a Bordeaux blend grown in the heart of Chianti Classico.
Produced in the "Volpe" vineyard in Ruffoli, in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, at approximately 400 meters above sea level, Capogatto 2013 is the fruit of the vision of Jurij Fiore, a Burgundian-trained winemaker, who sought to compete with international varieties in an excellent Tuscan terroir. The wine is composed of equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, grown on sandy-loam soils rich in gravel, with a southern exposure and spurred cordon training.
The harvest took place in late September, with fermentation in stainless steel for 12 days and aging for 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by a long period of bottle aging. The result is an intense red, a deep ruby color with purple highlights. On the nose, it releases complex notes of ripe black fruit, violet, cassis, sweet spices, mocha, and fine woods. On the palate, it is velvety, structured, and harmonious, with silky tannins and a long, persistent finish.
Capogatto 2013 is a wine with great personality, capable of evolving magnificently over time. Ideal paired with red meats, game, aged cheeses, or for moments of contemplation. An IGT label that combines international spirit and Tuscan soul, available at Enoteca Panevino for those seeking a red wine with class and character.
