Dedicato a Walter 2016 – Poggio al Tesoro

Poggio al Tesoro is the Bolgheri estate founded in the early 2000s by the Allegrini family, a historic name in Valpolicella. Dedicato a Walter is the wine Marilisa Allegrini created in memory of her brother Walter, a great lover of Cabernet Franc: this is why it is made solely from that grape.

Cabernet Franc finds an ideal home in Bolgheri, with a Mediterranean climate and sea breezes that preserve freshness. The wine comes from the estate's best vineyards and matures in barriques, for a rich yet elegant profile.

2016 was a vintage of great balance on the Tuscan coast, with healthy, ripe grapes. In the glass black and red fruit, the spicy and herbal notes typical of Franc, graphite and tobacco, with dense, silky tannins and a long finish. One of Italy's benchmark pure Cabernet Francs. With lamb, game and aged cheeses.
