Travaglini's Gattinara 2020 DOCG is a pure Nebbiolo from Alto Piemonte, elegant and mineral, embodying the volcanic and austere identity of the Gattinara terroir.
Produced exclusively from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown on mineral-rich porphyry soils, this wine represents the historic label of the Travaglini winery, a benchmark for the appellation. Harvested by hand at perfect ripeness, it is followed by a long maceration on the skins to extract structure and complexity. Aged for two years in Slavonian oak barrels and one year in bottle, for a total of three years before release.
It is a bright garnet red in color. The bouquet is intense and refined, with hints of sweet spices, red berries, mountain herbs, and mineral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and vigorous, with elegant tannins and a long, persistent finish, reflecting the freshness and tension typical of Alto Piemonte Nebbiolos.
