Frescobaldi's Lamaione 2016 Toscana IGT is a single-varietal Merlot of great elegance and power, produced at the CastelGiocondo Estate in Montalcino on clay soils that lend structure and depth. The 2016 vintage, with its excellent climatic balance, allowed for a slow and complete ripening of the grapes. The wine was vinified in stainless steel with a three-week maceration and aged for 24 months in French oak barriques (80% new), followed by 12 months in bottle. The wine has a deep ruby color and releases notes of berries, dark chocolate, coffee, and mint on the nose. The palate is broad and velvety, with firm tannins and a long, persistent finish. With an alcohol content of 14.5% vol, Lamaione 2016 received 94 points from Robert Parker and 95 from James Suckling, confirming itself as one of Tuscany's most refined Super Tuscans, ideal paired with game, braised meats and mature cheeses, available at Enoteca Panevino for those seeking a classy red with longevity.
