Masciarelli is the winery that did more than any other to bring Montepulciano d'Abruzzo into the league of great reds. Gianni Masciarelli founded it at San Martino sulla Marrucina and dedicated this label to his wife, Marina Cvetić, who would later lead the company. Made since 1997, Marina Cvetić is now the house's best-known red.
It is pure Montepulciano from several vineyards at around 400 metres at San Martino sulla Marrucina. Each cru is vinified separately and matures for 12-18 months in barriques before blending and at least six months in bottle.
The 2019 is a full yet elegant Montepulciano: sour cherry, plum, cocoa, tobacco and spice, with dense, velvety tannins and a long finish. One of central Italy's benchmarks for quality and value. With braised meats, arrosticini, lamb, game and aged cheeses.
