Marisa Bacher runs a young winemaking project in Monforte d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. She trained at Cascina Fontana, where she learned the principles of natural viticulture that she now applies in her small vineyards on calcareous marl and clay.
The work is artisanal, with no chemicals in the vineyard or cellar: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, gentle macerations and no fining or filtration. According to available sources, Rosso Bacher is a pure Dolcetto, bottled as a red wine without appellation.
The 2022 is a red of bright, juicy fruit, with cherry, small dark berries, a floral note and Dolcetto's typical slightly almondy finish; the palate is flowing and lively. A table wine in the best sense, for every day: with cured meats, pasta with ragù, grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses.
