Testarossa Trebbiano is the top white of Pasetti, an Abruzzo winegrowing family with vineyards inside the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. Like the red of the same name, the name ("red head") honours the red-haired women of the Pasetti family.
The Trebbiano Abruzzese comes from Capestrano, at around 450 metres, on gravelly, sandy soils that favour drainage and savouriness. After gentle pressing the must ferments mostly in stainless steel, with a small portion in small oak barrels; the wine then rests for several months on its fine lees before bottling.
The 2022 combines freshness and substance: yellow fruit, flowers, almond and a savoury finish, with enough structure to evolve for several years towards balsamic and toasty notes. Excellent with seafood starters, raw fish, risotto, baked fish and white meat.
