26 2020 – Avignonesi

Avignonesi is one of the historic estates of Montepulciano, the one that in the 1970s and 80s did more than most to bring Vino Nobile back to international attention. Today the estate, led by Virginie Saverys, is farmed entirely biodynamically and focuses on an ever more precise, terroir-driven Sangiovese.

26 is a Toscana IGT red conceived as a young, personal project within the range: a wine made for drinking, from organically and biodynamically farmed grapes on the Montepulciano hills, vinified to keep fruit and freshness rather than power.

The 2020 shows crunchy red fruit, floral notes and measured tannins, with a balanced, easy-flowing palate. A versatile Tuscan red for everyday meals, with pasta in meat sauce, grilled meats, cured meats and medium-aged cheeses.
