Alta Langa Rosé 2008 – Coppo

Coppo is one of the historic families of Canelli, active since 1892. Its cellars carved into the tuff are part of the "underground cathedrals" recognised by UNESCO together with the wine landscapes of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, and for decades they have housed the house's traditional-method bottles.

This Alta Langa Rosé is a pure Pinot Nero: the grapes come from hillside vineyards, and the wine referments in bottle and rests for a long time on its lees in the calm of the historic cellars, well beyond the thirty-month minimum set by the appellation.

A 2008 is a rarity today: time has brought mature notes of ripe red fruit, bread crust, dried fruit and undergrowth, with a fine, creamy bead. A mature, complex sparkling wine to serve throughout a meal with raw seafood, fried dishes, fish and white meat.
