Oracolo 2000 – Inama

Inama is the name that did more than any other to revive quality Soave Classico, but Stefano Inama and his family have also invested in reds, focusing on Bordeaux varieties, especially in the Colli Berici, historic home of Cabernet and Carmenère. Oracolo was their most ambitious red, a pure Cabernet Sauvignon that is now hard to find.

It was made from very low yields and aged entirely in new French oak, in a highly concentrated style that looked as much to Bordeaux as to the Napa Valley.

2000, a warm vintage, produced a rich, dark wine that after more than twenty years in bottle is fully evolved: blackcurrant and plum jam, cedar, tobacco, leather, graphite and balsamic notes, with the oak now integrated. A bottle for enthusiasts and collectors, a record of a special period in Veneto wine, to be opened without haste. With roasts, game or long-aged cheeses.
