Tenuta San Leonardo is based in Avio, in the Vallagarina (Trentino), and is known for its Bordeaux-style reds. The vineyards for Terre lie between 120 and 300 metres, facing south-west and north-west, on sandy soils for Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère and clay soils for Merlot.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carménère ferment spontaneously in small concrete vats, with 12-15 days of maceration. Ageing lasts 12 months, half in concrete and half in second- and third-passage French oak barriques and tonneaux, followed by at least 6 months in bottle.
Intense ruby, with raspberry, dark cherry, spice and aromatic herbs. On the palate it is agile, harmonious and very easy to drink. Serve with flavourful first courses and roast white meats.
