Borgogno is one of the historic cellars of the village of Barolo, founded in 1761 and long associated with a classic style of long macerations and large casks. Since 2008 it has belonged to the Farinetti family, who kept the traditional approach while focusing on single crus.
Liste is a named vineyard in the commune of Barolo: almost seven hectares facing south and south-east, between 270 and 330 metres, on calcareous clay-marl soils rich in stones. Fermentation is with native yeasts, followed by a long submerged-cap maceration and around four years of ageing in Slavonian oak casks.
2010 is regarded as one of the greatest Barolo vintages of recent decades, fresh and with very fine tannins. The wine has now reached a lovely maturity: cherries in spirit, dried rose, tar, forest floor and spice, with tannins still lively. A classic Barolo for braised meats, truffles and aged cheeses.
