Cont'Ugo 2019 Bolgheri DOC - Tenuta Guado al Tasso - Antinori

Produced at the prestigious Tenuta Guado al Tasso estate, located in Bolgheri along the Tuscan coast, Cont'Ugo 2019 comes from vineyards located between 45 and 60 meters above sea level, on silty-clayey alluvial soils that give the wine minerality and complexity. The 100% Merlot grapes are vinified with alcoholic fermentation and maceration for approximately 20 days in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. Aged for 12 months in French oak barriques and at least 10 months in bottle, achieving a highly balanced result.

It has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases notes of cherry, morello cherry, and raspberry, accompanied by hints of aromatic herbs and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is deep and elegant, with velvety tannins and a good minerality, finishing with a savory and persistent finish. The alcohol content is 14% vol.

Cont'Ugo is perfect paired with red meats, game, roasts, and aged cheeses, but also as a meditation wine for Merlot and Supertuscan enthusiasts.
