Elisabetta Foradori is the grower who restored the reputation of Teroldego, the grape of the Campo Rotaliano, the alluvial plain between Mezzolombardo and Mezzocorona where the Adige meets the Noce. Granato is the wine with which, from the 1980s onwards, she proved that Teroldego can be a great age-worthy red.
It comes from the estate's oldest vines, three pergola-trained plots averaging around seventy years old, farmed biodynamically. The grapes ferment in large open vats and the wine ages for about 15 months in wooden casks.
2018 was a generous, even vintage: cherry, redcurrant and blueberry, pepper, mountain herbs and an iron-like streak, with dense but never heavy tannins and plenty of freshness. The benchmark for Teroldego. With red meat, game, canederli and alpine cheeses.
