Foradori is the Mezzolombardo estate where Elisabetta Foradori, now joined by her children, turned Teroldego from a valley-floor red into a wine of great finesse, farmed biodynamically. Morei is the name of a vineyard of about two and a half hectares in the Campo Rotaliano, also at Mezzolombardo.
The roots reach down through pebbles and sand carried by the Noce river. The grapes ferment and stay on their skins for eight months in amphorae, Spanish tinajas from Villarrobledo: no wood, so that the fruit and the soil can speak.
The 2020 is fresh and lithe, at just 12.5% alcohol: cherry, blueberry, violet, pepper and an earthy touch, with fine tannins and a juicy palate. Compared with the finer, airier Sgarzon, it is a darker, more compact Teroldego. Excellent with charcuterie, canederli, white meats and mushrooms.
At a glance: Teroldego 100% · 12.5% ABV · 0.75 l · Foradori, Mezzolombardo (TN)
