Brunello di Montalcino Poggio al Vento Riserva 2013 DOCG - Col d'Orcia

This wine is produced in the heart of the Col d’Orcia estate, in the renowned Poggio al Vento (“hill exposed to the wind”) vineyard, located halfway up the hill overlooking the Orcia River. The breezy location and mineral-rich soil give the wine a powerful structure and distinctive aromatic finesse. The Sangiovese grapes are rigorously hand-picked, fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, and then aged for three years in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by an additional three years in bottle.

The Brunello Riserva 2013 is an intense ruby red. On the nose, it offers a broad and persistent bouquet with notes of berries, sweet spices, tobacco, and leather. On the palate, it is structured and balanced, with ripe tannins and a pleasant acidity that guarantees a long cellar life. The alcohol content is 14.5% ABV, and it can age for over 40 years.

Col d’Orcia, a historic Montalcino winery and pioneer of organic viticulture, is synonymous with tradition and innovation. Poggio al Vento is its most iconic label, recognized by international critics with excellent scores (Wine Enthusiast and Robert Parker: 96/100).
