Settenani 2022 – Oltrepò Pavese IGT – Tenuta Fornace

Settenani is the Riesling of Tenuta Fornace, an estate in Rovescala in the Oltrepò Pavese, run by Andrea Rossi, the sixth generation of a winegrowing family. The estate is farmed organically and biodynamically, and the cellar follows an artisanal, natural approach, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention.

The Oltrepò is one of the historic homes of Riesling Renano in Italy. This one comes from an old vineyard on marly, calcareous soils: the grapes spend a day macerating on their skins in the press, ferment with native yeasts and age in stainless steel, preserving the variety's tension and aromatics.

In the glass it is a white with character: citrus, white-fleshed fruit, herbs and a light hint of the petrol typical of Riesling, carried by lively acidity and good savouriness. Try it with seafood starters, raw fish, risotto, baked fish and fresh cheeses: a precise, unconventional natural white.
